Hello,
I have found out today after having a MRI done I have sever Inflammation and swelling in both of my shoulders. My DR wants me to see an Orthopetic Surgeon to see what he suggests we do. My question is: has any one else every had this happen to them? I have to take Lortabs every 4 hours and Tramadols 2 every morning and 2 before bed just to get the pain to be under control. I also found out I have sever arthrits ? in my right knee which is painful also but the shoulders are my main problem at this time. Any help from any one would be greatly appreciated. The last time I had surgery was for my sinus' and it took a lot to get me out of the anesthesi ?... Thanks for any advice or help...

Thanks Again

Hi Melissa, go to a physical therapist (a good one). If you don't know any (good ones) go to www.apta.org, click on "find a therapist", put in a zip code and distance you want to travel, and make sure there is an OCS or SCS after their name (clinical specialist). You may also look up Hashimoto Disease. You may also look up cf arthritis on Google and you'll also see a lot there to compare to your symptoms. NSAIDS and PT ( a good one... I mean it) may really help. Some orthopedists "might care" but in some areas they actually can pyo. Let me know how you make out.

I have Hashimoto's disease and CF related arthritis. My shoulders are a mess-- inflammation, swelling, and pain (oh, and popping). Try some light massage and heat. I let mine get out of control and had to wear a sling for a while-- that was not fun.

I've had shoulder pain as well, I use a mosit heating pad when I go to bed sometimes in the afternoon as well. I also get a massage every other week. It helps, I try to excerise my arms everyday it hurts but in the long run I think it helps.Last year I had what is called a frozen shoulder? did P/T for 6-7x then did at home stuff it lasted a long time but I can finally lift my right arm above my head and reach behind to unhook my bra AHHHHH Pat 55/CF
