Kate and Karla, How is Makailyn doing? It sounds so scary. You must be exhausted. I'm thinking of you all!

Hi Jane,
Thankyou for thinking about us.

Makailyn went for her appt on Friday, and as of now we are still lost. They did say they are going to do an MRI to check for an "anomaly", which the doctor doesn't think that is the problem , but , it is the first step in the process to try to figure out why , and not as invasive . Then the next thing would be the ERCT, which is more invasive. They do believe that the pass attacks were most likely Pancreatitis.
The only good thing is , that if she gets ill , we just need to call the Clinic and they will admit her without having to go through the INSAIN process of going through the ER !!!

We are waiting on lab results , and culture results , as of now. And they will call us when they get the MRI scheduled. She also caught a nasty cough being in the hospital.

She has been very tired, but hasn't complained of any pain the past couple of days. We did ask about her eating a high fat diet. The doctor said she must cont. with the diet due to her CF, low weight ect.

As of now it's a waiting game. I just have a bad feeling we are far from them knowing what to do to keep her from getting so sick again. Expecially since it has happened so much since August. So I hope they can figure out soon what to do , so this will not happen to her again.......

All my blessings to everyone , Karla

I am VERY glad that if she needs to go back in, it will be through her center and she won't have to deal with all the insanity and GERM EXPOSURE of the er! That was just awful last time... too many drs that don't know about cf combined with every possible flu strain and who knows what else breathing everywhere, yuck.

I hope the MRI (and ERCT if it become necessary) go well.

I'm so sorry she's had to go through so much. It's so hard seeing your child go through so much and just not know what to do to help since you can't figure out what is causing the problem- it's a frustrating, helpless, scary feeling. Hang in there and keep us updated.
