Happy Sunday!!

I went to the emergency room on Thursday evening in extreme pain under my left rib cage. I was double overed in pain under my rib cage, middle back, and shoulder. I had my galbladder removed a few years ago so I knew it wasnt that, but the pain was similar very sharp in the middle of the stomach and the back. So after all the blood work came back normal: kidney, liver, and pancrease fine. The heart and lungs were fine. However, the found a cyst on my pancreas. They said the cyst was pushing into my spleen causing the pain. I am having an MRI tomorrow to get a bet view. Has anyone ever gone through anything similar? Any Cysts on pancreas? How was it treated? Any feedback would be great!!

Thank you,

Pepsi

Welcome , and sorry about your pain .

I apparently had/still have a cyst, but they aren't doing anything about it, and it isn't causing me any pain. You could have a touch of pancreatitis maybe? Or (this is my problem), I have also had my gallbladder out, but ended up with a bile stone in my common bile duct (felt just like my gallbladder pains). You can also get bile sludge in your bile duct, that can cause a less obvious but similar blockage/pain. It's really good that you are getting an MRI (with contrast? or is that the catscan...I can't remember which one I had- sorry).

Are you taking Actigall? If not, I'd ask your doctor about starting it. If so, maybe you need your doctor to increase it? Oh, and my doctor has me drink lots (and lots) of water, too, to help keep those systems flushed out.

Let us know how your results come back!
