Hello again everyone!
Quick question. I have had a Pari Trek S for about 3 1/2 years. It actually quit nebulizing properly a year or so ago and I have been using a Pulmo-Aide I bought out of pocket since. After reading on here that Pari's have a 5 year manufacturer warranty I called the medical equipment company I got it from to have it replaced. When i went to pick up the replacement, the place closed at 5 and I got there at about 4:55. So, like an idiot, I didn't even really look into the bag to see what they were giving me. Just assumed it was the same thing. When I got it home I realized it was a Philips Respironics OptionHome. At first i didn't really care because I was never impressed with the Pari. But after more thinking it kinda started to bug me because I feel like if it is a manufacturer warranty it should be replaced with the same manufacturer. I did a quick google search showed that the Philips costs less than half of what the Pari cost. So essentially they replaced it w/about the cheapest compressor on the market. So this doesn't sit quite right w/me. They will get a replacement Pari when they return mine to the manufacturer and can then turn around and sell it for more money? Also, aren't Pari's the preferred brand for CF patients? I know my respiratory therapist specifically requested the Pari.
Anyway, guess I'm wondering what you would do? Am I being petty or am I wrong about the replacement thing altogether? Maybe they can replace it with whatever they want? I'm not sure if I should call and push the issue or let sleeping dogs lie. Let me know what you think please. Also, if anyone has the Philips Respironics OptionHome will you let me know what you think of it?
Wow. that was wordy! thanks for sticking w/me. One more thing I wanted to add: Long story but I have been less than impressed with this medical equipment company. I think that's another reason this isn't sitting right with me. So maybe my annoyance with them is causing me to be bothered by this situation!
Okay now I'm really done! Thanks again!
