I am new to this site. I am 26 and have CF. I have recently gotten sick and everytime I cough I get this feeling like I'm going to pass out. I have even passed out for 2 hous. This has never happened to me before. Has anyone had this problem. If so what caused it and how to stop it.

I would call the Dr. I used to get really dizzy from coughing too much and would feel like I was going to pass out. It usually means I have an infection when this happens to me.

I have often gotten dizzy from coughing and I know some others on here have mentioned it before, too. I would definitely let the dr. know about it. Do you have a good CF clinic that you go to and can talk to?

I'm not positive on your idea of passing out....but.... Coughing takes a great deal of energy. If you are coughing hard enough and long enough, you may be getting fatigued from the coughing. You may be overexerting yourself. When I have bad coughing fits, especially if I have an infection, I will become ultra fatigued after coughing and sometimes fall asleep for a couple hours as well. I imagine it would be similar to someone who can only run a block trying to run a couple miles.

I guess you need to clarify "passing out" a bit.
