Passing time in the hospital

Ok, I know that all of the ones previously stated we all do at some point. But if you like to do jigsaw puzzles, those are good especially the ones with a lot of pieces. And what's so funny about that is trying to find a place to put it together, if you don't have one of those roll up boards that people sometimes use. You tend to find yourself trying to get ahold of any type of table you can find that would be big enough for that. I used to do those alot when I was younger. And that's the only idea that I didn't see written down so far. I also take the time while I'm in the hospital to read my Bible. You would be surprised how much time that can take. Also if you go to church, if your church is willing sometimes, you could have someone use their cell phone to call you and you can listen in to the sermons. That is if your church will agree to it. You can always put up a do not disturb sign, for that time so you wouldn't really interrupt the church service you would just be able to listen in. Just a thought. If you go to church.

For me I have a portable DVD player and I just bring in tons of movies to watch. I also bring in stuff to do my nails. That's always fun. And I bring my ipod as well, helps pass the time.

Maybe you could buy some model kits (cars/aeroplanes) and build them while in there.

or get a meccano set or lego and make crazy sculptures

I just finished a two week stint myself. Oi vay, did that suck. I spent most of my time listening to my ipod, watching the ever so expensive cable that I rented for the two weeks *though luckly I got a week free * I was in, hit on cute boy nurses and aides, went down the the 24/7 cafeteria a lot and bought red velvet cake twice a day *I managed to even pack on a bonus 12 pounds!*, went for a lot of walks, talked with my roommate, bought some magazines and books, had some fiends come over to visit. For two night, they had me in isolation, and so everyone who came to visit me had to wear a mask. So one night, I had friends come in, and got them to draw animal face on their masks. It was loads fun, and took up a whole night full of laughter. Admittedly I slept a lot too, and asked for sleepy anti-nausea meds for the side effects I was getting from my meds, and on the occasion I got myself a day pass to go out and get a long needed hair cut, or visit a friend for coffee. It also helped that the nursing staff and help were so friendly. I had one nurses aid come in on every one on his shifts to chat with me for awhile. It passed some nights pretty quickly. Other than that, I tried to walk when I could, and tried really hard to take hot somewhat enjoyable showers in the closet space they called a shower in a room for two.
