I'm having trouble as well but was finally able to get all of yesterday's post after some "tricks".

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>Update, 2:43 am: Pepe's cath showed right side heart failure, the cause of her flash edemas. Imaging showed enlargement of the heart and thickening of the right ventricular walls. These changes are characterized as cor pulmonale, a symptom of severe lung disease. Pepe's right heart sustained intense pressure trying to pump blood through her end-stage lungs. The result was a stretching, thickening, and ultimate weakening of the muscle. It is still under stress because of her pneumonia. Today's cath showed a pulmonary artery pressure of 45, indicative of moderate pulmonary hypertension. An immediate treatment for this is additional oxygen to reduce arterial pressure. Pepe's flow has been increased to 15 liters. She has also been started on more heart medications.

She suffered one 800 cc flash edema today, which was suctioned. At present, her O2 sat is 92, higher than it has generally been at this hour, but her PaCO2 also up, 60. This is causing headaches. The good news is that the cath showed no reopening of the repaired hole in her heart and that improvement in her cardiac condition is likely as her new lungs improve. Still, it was a tough day for Pepe, with a difficult procedure and difficult information to digest. She is calm tonight. She is also two chest tubes lighter than she was yesterday. But she is not breathing easily. Unfortunately, not much thus far has been easy.</end quote></div>

I'm having the same problem. I check in for updates on her so often, and it's been frustrating to say the least.

I also can't read Garran's CB page for some reason. It now tells me I must be an invited reader, which it never did before.

I just pray they are both doing ok.
