percussor

I'm trying to find the manufacturer of a piece of equipment that is a percussor.
Its small, circular and lightweight. They used it in the hospital on me once when I couldn't stand manual pt.

I do have a vest. I also used a percussor on certain areas that seemed more congested. The one that I've had is now dying and I need a new one. The one I have is heavy though and I thought if I was getting a new one, I would try to find the lightweight one from many years ago.

I am aware of the frequencer but there is a long wait to try it....

Any information would be helpful!!!!!
Thank you!!

I just tried the frequencer - long wait? I mentioned it to my Dr and had in about 2 weeks - did the 2 week trial and should be getting a brand new in about a week or so - But i thought it was great and easy to use and small compared to the vest - The only down side it that both of your hands arent free when you do use it

She might mean that at her hospital there is a long wait for it?

I have the Electro Flo 5000 Percussor, it can be found at the manufactors website www.medsystems.com

It was about $2800 for me out of pocket. We tried to send the invoice into my insurance but its been a battle... but thats probably b/c of the insurance provider I have.

I know there is another one called the G5 percussor, but that has a stand and everything but if you google G5 percussor you can find it.

Good luck, hope this helps.

I also have the electro flo 5000 percussor and absolutely love. I actually use this as it mimics more of manual percussion. I do have my husband percuss my back but I can do all other lobes. I took it with me to the hospital the last time I was in and the RT's in there loved it too because it was lightweight and they dd't get vibrated to death.

If its hard to get a percussor covered by insurance you should look into this... My boyfriend swears by it, as he is sitting next to me right now using it... we like to travel.. and he bought this before out last cruise.. he says its the best 200.00 he has spent. seems a little more reasonable then 2800.00.... he just got done wearing his vest and then uses this for about 15 minutes. Hope this is of some help <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I'm surprised there is a long wait to try to frequencer too. I just called the company to get some info on it, and they gave me a 2 week trial right away. In the end, I prefer the vest for overall treatment. I'd love to have the frequencer for times I'm sick as an extra thing, but its way too expensive.
I've heard of the percussor, but haven't tried it. I don't think its really a substitute for vest or chest pt-just an extra helper.

Hello,

I am a design student working on my senior thesis. I decided to focus on cystic fibrosis and redesigning a hand held percussor. I have read the posts on this topic and looked into the devices you are all already using. I was wondering if anyone has any input into maybe what you would like to see in a new percussor out on the market or any ideas with the way you hold it, shape, use...

If I could get some responses to this that would be great. My goal is to design something that can be produced to better help you guys with your needs.

Thanks
