Ok, does anyone else find this annoying...

Someone starts a thread, people start responding, but is anyone actually reading the previous responses. I really hate it when I post a response then later someone else posts exactly the same response. I'm not talking about prayer requests, B-day, pats on the back, or any of that kind of stuff. I'm also not talking about threads that have hundreds of replies because everyone misses something here and there. I'm talking about your average "advice" type post. It's ok if you want to chime in and say, "I agree with everyone else" but to say exactly the same thing that's already been posted just makes it seem like you haven't taken the time to read the entire thread and/or that you're a "response-aholic".

Done venting.

I see it a lot too, but I have to admit that sometimes I'm a part of it as well. Somtimes people post and they don't separate their paragraphs so it's like 35 lines all together. My eyes and head start to hurt when I read stuff like that. I've got to have that separation or larger font, or I just can't follow it. So on posts like that, I pretty much skip it... GUILTY here. But I also see it and even though I sometimes do it, it does annoy me as well. especially when it's WORD for WORD.

Yes, I have been quite long winded lately craig, generally it was just the occasional post, but lately I've been a bit lengthy... What do you expect when all I GET to do is lay around on the couch, LOL

I think it's because some people get really upset if everyone and thier mother doesnt respond to posts...

The positive note in repeating other people's comments is that for the reader the information will sink in. It is like school. The Three R's Read, Recite, Review
That is if you have the time to read everyone's comments.

well i know sometimes when im typing something that no one has posted yet and i hit the reply button i see that a billion people have replied with the same thing while i was typing mine up! i dont see any point in editing what ive posted and deleting everything so i just leave it there. as for some threads where there are 2 pages of the same thing well, it just doesnt bother me. its not like there is anything else that i need to rush to see on here.

It's usually the word for word responses that really bug me. If you want to "ditto" what's already been said just to reinforce the point, then just say, "I agree with what's already been posted".
