We have 2 dogs and a cat, the dogs are outside 95% percent of the time, but thats because of me (not really a dog person) the cat is 50/50. But only in the living areas, but again that is me I can't stand cats in bedrooms. Both boys love the animals. Particularly the baby loves the cat and will reach out to her all time. My CF team say there is absolutly no problem with having pets, in fact when Jordan was born (he's 8 now) we had no pets and have added them along the way.

I was wondering about just keeping the kitty in the living areas, more specifically the playroom and tiled areas. I don't want animals sleeping with the girls, especially Abby.

Anyone know when cat dander becomes an allergen for adults and children? Does the cat have to be an adult cat or does it start producing dander when it is a kitten?

My allergies are bothering me, but I don't see the girls rubbing their nose, sneezing, or rubbing eyes. Abby doesn't have any additional congestion.

I'm probably worrying over nothing.

Our CF doc says that it is okay to have pets, as long as there are no allergies to them. If my memory serves me correct, he did not want us to get a bird.
We have a Shihtzu and a Guinea Pig, and the girls love them both. They beg for another pet every week Hannah wants to be a Vet when she grows up so she can be around animals all the time
