Message 4 Leah

One of my main anxieties at the moment is if my daughter who is 2 years old has to have ivs. She has PA at the moment. Had it first when she was 10 months old, was then clear, came back exactly 12 months later. Been using neb since last October, keeps going then coming back?

Any advice?

Thanks

theres no need to worry about a picc line! there not so bad, you get used to them! and their alot easier, b/c you can disconnect them/etc. for when you need to go the bathroom and stuff! when im in the hospital for more then a couple days, i always ask for a picc line b/c their alot more comfortable. there placed in your arm, not hand, and you can actually use both hands! don't worry about it too much, i know its nerve wracking, but you'll see how much easier they are!

good luck! and keep us posted!

Charlotte, Not really sure of your question. If you want to know about your daughter getting a picc line, its not that bad. As for the PA coming back, Reece cultured PA around 1 yr also & had to have IV meds. For us the ivs help then about 1 month later his symptoms come back, although not as bad as before ivs, he still continues to get "colds" and cant shake them w/out ivs lately!? Maybe hes not getting the "right" meds but you trust the doc to give the "right" med, right? (whew) Sorry not much help as I am in the same boat you are in not really knowing WHY my son keeps getting "colds".

Thanks for that Leah. Yes you're right you do kind of trust the Docs but I also trust my gut instinct too. Not much got much confidence with all this stuff at the mo as it is all really new to us if you know what I mean?!
