ive done both surgical and ultrasound to get my piccs placed in...they can do alot of damage if you get them placed every couple months like i had to get....they caused scarring on my veins.

I just had a PICC a few weeks ago. They did it in the radiology department. The numbing shot hurt worse than anything... hardly felt the PICC line get inserted. Hubby got to sit with me the entire time. I think the whole process took them 10 minutes maximum. I didn't have much time to get scared. It took the nurse only one try... very smooth and simple.
