mine's not oozing blood anymore. it's literally an ooze. every picc i've ever have had does this. so i was just wondering if anyone else's does this. last picc i had when i was in fl they used the bio patch, but it still oozed, not as much but it still did some. i must be a freak of nature lol.

I have had some of my PICCs ooze or bleed a bit. I always request extra dressing change kits and change the dressing if it bothers me that much.

the doctor's didn't seem too concerned with the oozing. it just looks so gross, not to mention it caused a lot of irritation with my skin this time. my pfts were up so they went ahead and pulled the line. i have a few small little blisters where the ooze was just sitting. i'm thankful its out that's for sure!

I had one do it- and I've had those that I had a completely non occlusive dressing on the entire time. You can keep a gauze pad under the tegaderm for the entire time however, but for an occluded dressing where you can not see the insertion site you have to change it every three days. Hope this helps. Good luck
