Pill Box for Enzymes

I know some people carry giant pill bottles in their purses/bags, but I still carry a fairly small handbag. Others have metal pill boxes with cool graphics, some have cool key chains. What do you use?...

Years ago I got a tiny, flat plastic box that held about 15 enzymes from drug company. And it worked okay, but if I put too many enzymes in it, it'd pop open and I'd find enzymes spilled in my purse. Or I requested the smallest medicine bottle possible from the pharmacist to keep in my pocket during the summer.

More recently I've discovered that using an empty Altoids Smalls (sugar free) mint box works perfectly. Holds plenty of enzymes and other meds and doesn't pop open.

Good question. I have various things. On my key chain I have a small pill container that holds about 10 pills. I refill daily, but I ALWAYS have my keys with me, so this is the best choice.

I one got some little mints I found at the checkout counter in Target. Its a small round silver container with a jeweled top that twists on. That one fits about 30 pills and I usually have that filled and in my purse. I also have ones I got from the different pharmaceuticals with pills in various other purses. Pretty much if you were to search my coat pockets and the bottom of all my purses you'd find a large collection of pills, pill containers, oh and a few spare tampons...just in case. LOL.

I have a pill case that I got at a purse party a few years ago. It holds about 15 enzymes, OR, 7 enzymes and the other 3 things Em takes at dinner time. We also have a few of the little plastic ones that the enzymes companies give away at CF ed nights and the walks. Those are great to throw in her backpack as a "spare" or in Dad's pocket if he's going somewhere with her without me.

Here's a question...I've noticed that the pills that stay in a case in the bottom of my purse as the "spares" (Yes, Heather, down there with the tampons and the lipgloss I always forget that I own...) take on a yellowed appearance after a while. The enzymes we get in "bulk" that stay in the closet don't do this in the same amount of time. So, what causes the yellowing? Exposure to heat? Light? Air? I tend to toss them when they get this way, but wondered if they are still good. Any thoughts?

What brand are you using? Our creon don't do that, that I noticed. But once went to a talk at the CF center where they talked about the reason for the new labeling laws. Enzymes are incredibly shelf instable, and they were over packing the pills (as much as 130%) because over time the effectiveness reduces quickly. So I wonder if what you are seeing is part of the instability that being out of the package might cause????

They can get old and dried up -- the beads on the pancrease MTs shrink and get a little mishapen, which is why I don't leave a large number of enzymes at my inlaws homes as they move to the lake in June and don't return until October and I figure warm humid environment is probably not a good idea.
