Any Pink Floyd fans? There's a classic rock station down here and they've played many of their songs that I've gotten into. The stuff I've heard so far just blows my mind. I'm going to listen to their entire discography. I just like to hear other opinions of stuff from other people.

Those guys are awesome. Their first album was probably the best. I think its called Pipers at the Gates of Dawn which featured original guitarist syd barret. Everything after that was really good too. I don't think they ever really had a bad album except some are definitely more memorable than others and momentary lapse of reason was by far the worst. If you like Pink Floyd you'd probably like Led Zepplin alot too. I love their fourth album and am always getting that battle of evermore song stuck in my head. Good ol' hippy psychadelic rock music!

I got the Echoes album from someone so I started there. I finished the first disc, so far it's awesome! Now I have the whole discography. So I can't wait to continue!
Zeppelin. I'll keep them in mind!
Psychadelic rock, I see why people get high to it. I get a little high just listening. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">

One of the greatest bands ever in my opinion. I think they really found their sound in the 70's, particularly Dark Side through The Wall. They're one of the few bands I think it's best to listen to an album straight through. Congrats on your discovery. I'm not a fan of the Syd Barret stuff, doesn't do much for me. Roger and David are the big geniuses behind the music.

I saw Roger Waters in concert doing The Wall last year. Amazing.

I also have their entire discography. Check out Zabriskie Point

I know people think the Syd stuff is so big, but I honestly think the stuff by Waters and Gilmore is better than Syd's stuff. That doesn't mean I hate it, I just like the later stuff better. Finished Echoes, moving on to their first album now. The Piper at the Gates of Dawn I think it's what it's called.

Pink Floyd most likely will find itself in with the likes of Mozart when history judges our music in a few hundred years. "The Wall" came out in December of 1979 (if memory serves) to be awarded the Album of the decade. I won't try to tell you which is better or worse of their music. Go with what you enjoy. I was traveling from Southern Italy North early in 1973. A small Roman amphitheater outside some Southern Italian village had all the center filled with band equipment. The face of the base drum identified the unattended equipment as "Pink Floyd". We sat around for some time and slowly the band and a camera crew assembled. We attended a concert for two. Our travels criss-crossed several times going North. We saw a total of four concerts not counting the first. If you listen with headphones or ear buds, after a while you begin to focus on each performer. One piece from "The Wall" Comfortably Numb has a guitar solo that expresses emotion like few artists ever could. Enjoy and explore their music. You have a personal discovery here suck life in but don't let it do the same to you.

Oh, I am in love with Comfortably Numb! I haven't heard all of The Wall, but that's the first song I ever got from them. First thing I ever heard from it was David Gilmore singing the chorus, and something about it made me listen. I love the whole Pink story. I read about it, and I cannot wait until I start that album. I'm moving onto A Saucer Full of Secrets now. I am having so much fun! And Syd's stuffis just as amazing for me, it's a shame what happened to him.

Set the controls for the heart of the sun is the only pink floyd song to have both gilmour and barret on guitar and is truly one of their greatest creations. I just feel like some of their more snazzy jazzed up albums like dark side of the moon tend to distract people from some of their earlier works which were brilliant in their own right. Even though I love every single song off the wall. I just feel like Barret created alot of their sound and style and sewed their sort-of space cadet roots and all he got in return was that crappy song, shine on you crazy diamond written after him..and probably a few million in royalties too!
