PINK vest

Sue,

I have the full vest and think it's WAY better than the chest vest. I do believe all vests by hill-rom work with the same tubes, so if you wanted to switch to a pink one (or just a full one) you could. It also shouldn't matter how old your vest machine actually is just to get a new vest. People grow out of their original sizes, they break, etc. so they have to be replaceable (and it's usually free). I've had my vest for about 10 years. A few years ago I needed to get a bigger size, so they sent me the next size up for free. Only about a year after that, my resp. therapist said they had pink ones and offered to order me one. I got that one right away for free, too, despite just having gotten a new size.

Long story short (too late, ha), I recommend trying a full vest and you shouldn't have any problems getting a colored one (unless they're on back-order or something) <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

i also think the full vest works better for me than the chest vest. It took some getting used to and it made me itch like crazy the first few days but i definitely get more stuff up with it....

Is there anyone who doesn't like the new vest? Emily (age 5...and yes, that probably is part of the problem) HATES her "pinky" and will not wear it. She can't tolerate the feeling of the fabric and when she does wear it she cries and says she can't breathe. I am trying to understand what she might be feeling and what might cause this. I'd appreciate any adult insights about how the new and old vests differ. Thanks!

Tami...I love it because it doesn't creep up during my treatments, but I have to say it is a little tighter feeling on me then the last vest I had. Not it a bad or painful way, but it feels "closer to my skin" if that makes sense?? Maybe that is what she is feeling??

I can definitely tell a difference btwn chest and full vest... at first I really liked the full vest, but as with both vests I think our bodies just "get used to it"... you know, the same frequencies etc...

If I wasnt so in love w/ the full vest, I would probably switch it up btwn the chest and full, but I dont. I still have my old one just in case though.

iziemom, sorry I have no advice... I like the feel of the new vests as well, softer but not annoying when your hands are dry if that makes sense.
