We are getting ready for an RV vacation. Flying first then renting an RV and traveling. <div><br></div><div>Any advice on traveling in an RV with a CF child.</div><div><br></div><div>Feeling a little overwhelmed with getting organized and packed.</div><div><br></div><div>I have disposable nebs, regular boiling nebs(I will buy bottled H@0 and boil nebs when hooked up to camp) I also bought Control 3 solution but don't you need to rinse with sterile H2o after you use it anyway? I also have inhalers for albuterol and pulmicort, will need to still neb pulmozyme and HTS. THe RV has generator hook up.</div><div><br></div><div>I have a plan if Maggie gets sick on the road; will double up on her Usual Bactrim dose(CF doc said fine to do that). If she needs something called in he said we could call him on the road. For the nebs I would either buy an inexpensive baby bottle sterilizer and plug it in to the RV and use that, if you'll have access to an outlet the whole time. Or, since this is a vacation, you can buy a big pack of the cheap disposable nebs. I went to Egypt 2 yrs ago and had no access to clean water or reliable sterilizer/outlets and did that. Do you really want to be sterilizing on your whole vacation? (thats just me, its only a week or two after all)<br><br>As for the pharmacy issue, I'd just print out a list now of either cvs, walgreens, etc all in the general area of where you'll be, or use your phone if you'll have access. You can pretty much get anything through those pharm's now, and your docs just have to call it in to that pharmacy wherever it may be. <br><br>I don't know how often she's sick, but personally I'd just try to really relax and enjoy your hard earned vacation. That will probably do her (and YOU!) more good than anything else. Have a wonderful trip!<br>

I would get an acapella as well. I know when I needed a quick "pick me up" treatment, but couldn't get the power going in the RV at the time, it was a lifesaver. Just a couple round on it, and I'd be ready to go until the next time I could do the vest.
Beyond that, just enjoy the trip, have fun and relax.

When my daughter was born we bought an RV and lived/travelled in it for 2 years. If you have any questions, feel free to pm me. Anyway, we didn't know she had cf when we were travelling. I can say that we NEVER drank the water from the RV or used it even for cooking. The water tank never gets fully cleaned out so I am sure there are plenty of bacteria hanging out in the lines/etc. Even when you are hooked up to the camp site water, I would be skeptical. So, we just used bottled water for everything, and it worked great. We had a really great time. Not sure if you got one with a toilet in it, but if you did, make sure to bring a pack of disposable gloves. Takes the edge off when you are cleaning things out<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I hope you enjoy your vacation!
