I say send her unless she appears to be not feeling well, like mentioned above. Abby tends to get the cough like you just explained because of the post nasal drip and it does take a little longer to get over. Remember too, that a lot of times the cough, germs that our cfers have aren't contagious for other people. The hard part is telling the difference between cf related and cough/virus.

Ry , as an adult, always opted to do tings at the end of an infection if they were important/fun, because he made CF work around his life, not his life work around CF.</end quote>

Amen to that.

I have done lots of things when I wasn't feeling in tip top shape because there was no way I was going to stay home and be sick when something fun was going on, and for the most part, my parents supported that. I can't say that I was ever any worse for the wear from it either. Send her!!

First off, Sydney is adorable- I just checked her website. We have a similar situation with our two year old, Aidan. We chose no preschool as well and instead have him in various classes that he loves. Whenever he has a symtpom of anything, I weight the pros and cons. If it is outside, I usually go. But indoor things make me wary esp since I would not want another parent bringing their child with a cough. It is a hard choice sometimes.

Can I ask- I know there was someone on this board who had a second child with IVF/PGD? Was that you perchance as I notice you have a younger child or was that just good luck? Hope you don't mind me asking but I just went through IVF/PGD (2 transferred, don't know about pregnancy yet)and was looking for others. Thanks

Hi Everyone, OP here, lol. Anyway, just wanted to thank you all for your responses and let you know how our week turned out...pretty yucky!! Sydney is doing much better but I got hit really bad with this sinus cold (much worse than she did) and then Andrew (5 months) got it too! So, we ended up staying home on Tuesday, skipped Toddler Time on Wednesday at the library, I took Andrew to the doctor on Wednesday afternoon bc he was coughing so badly. The DR confirmed that it was a sinus cold and said that the cough could last up to 3 weeks. Then we took Sydney to the Fall Fun Fest and she had a BLAST there. She did cough a lot bc she was running all around for 2 hours and the weather was crummy but today she is doing even better than yesterday. i am guessing that her cough will be gone in a few days but we will see what her CF doc says tomorrow at clinic. Anyway, thanks again for the advice. I am sure I will be put in the situation again soon since it is just the beginning of cold/flu season!

Megan: Hi, I didn't do IVF/PGD - the pregnancy was not planned (well, I say it was planned by God but not by me ). I do know how heartbreaking the thought of no more kids can be though so I really hope you get pg though and hope you will post it here, okay!

Thanks again everyone!
