Hey All,

I'm having real trouble giving Olivia her Losec, it has just been added to her medication list.

Actually i'm also having real trouble feeding her aswell, she just won't eat. Breakfast is good but when it comes to lucnh and dinner all hell breaks loose. Its been 3 days that she hasn'e had lunch or dinner.grrrrrrrr<img src="">

Now, back to the Losec everytime i give it to her she spits it straight out and now the last two day's she has been gaging and making herslef vomit it straight out. There is no way she will keep it in.

Iv'e ran out of ideas and don't know what else to do, please someome help.

Also, is there an alternative to Losec?

Any ideas would be great.

I dont know what to say about the new med, because garran is not on that. But in regards to the eating issue, It has been about a year now where Garran just wont eat. He will nibble now and then but nothing substantial. He used to eat constantly but out of the blue he just stopped. He stared to lose weight and his lung functions started to drop. So in February '06 we had a G-tube (MIC-KEY Button) placed. He has gained 15 pounds now and rising. It makes dinner time alot easier when he doesnt have to have the stress of mom and dad urging him to eat.

I am not saying that this is the only option, it was something that we prayed hard about, but I thought I would let you know what we did.

Also we tried to make dinner fun by making cool looking things to eat, this helped for a bit but he got bored with it. You can try it tho you might have better luck than we did.

Let us know how things work out.

Victoria, thankyou so very much for your reply. We to have tried everything from making food fun to colours even watching dvd's, but its gotten to a point where eating is no longer fun but rather a big fight.

Its almost like she has bagun to associate food and eating as some kind of horrible thing to do. OMG, i can't even explian it i feel so stressed out at the moment.

She has alos began throwing massive tantrams as soon as anything food related is mentioned and fireballs around the house screaming and carying on.

I posted in the adult forum hoping that more people would view this and give me some helpful ideas. So please keep them coming.

Victoria, i think if she keeps this up we might have to have her reviewed for a G tube. She only just made 10 kg and its been a long time coming.Although its somthing i would like to avoid, i don't think i can handle the stress anymore and its making me a very cranky mummy.

Thanks again.

Hi, my daughter has a g tube and its helped her gain weight even though she loves to eat its just with her pancrease messed up to she can't gain enough weight without it. I encourage you to get her in ASAP before her height is affected with her not growing its hard enough to stay on track but even more difficult to catch up. I know its been a life struggle with my daughter and I wish she would have been adviced to get one at your daughters age my daughter is 15 1/2yrs. old and under the 40% chart rate.

Good luck, Lisa parent of cf

Eli,

I know exactly how you feel with the tantrums and everything, Garran was making himself throw up so he wouldnt have to eat.

Tomorrow we have an upper GI scheduled to see if there isnt something medical that is causing him to not want to eat. Then we will look at psychological. It has been since October of 2005 since he has wanted to eat on his own. It is very frustrating.

Please keep us informed on your daughter and what you decide to do. I will be praying for you both!
