Please pray for Hairgirl

Hey Everyone, I have been really worried about Hairgirl (Roshelle) since she posted about bleeding last sunday and what to do, I hadn't seen her on IM so I emailed her to see how she was doing. I didn't get a response for a few days and have been very concerned. I just received this email from her husband.

Roshelle went into the er at the U Monday night and has been on a ventilator since. They took her down to intervention radiology last night to see if they could find the source of bleeding in her bronchial arteries. They did find some suspect places and they embolized them. Today they want to be agressive with airway clearance and try to ween her off the ventilator today or tomarrow. Hopefully she won't bleed any more and they can extubate her soon. The doctors are worried about pnumonia setting in due to the ventilator and the burkholdria cepacia that could get going. Roshelle's on the micu in room 4. I know she values your friendship with you. If you want an update you can call the micu nurses station and the password is **** if they ask. Thanks Jeremy Evans

If you could all keep her in your thoughts and prayers I know it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Emilee for posting this.  I am just so sorry to hear
that Roshelle is having such a tough time right now.  I know
how scary it is to have bleeding that just doesn't want to stop.
In the past my intervention radiologist has described looking
for my offending artery (arteries)  like he
was looking for a needle in a haystack.  In other words,
it is sometimes very difficult and not always obvious. I pray
that the bleeding has ceased and that she will be home
soon.  Please keep us updated<img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

I will keep Rochelle in my Prayers. I know what it is like to go through all of that. I just hope and pray that she is not on the vent too much longer. At least they can get rid of her mucus with suctioning.

Don't know anyone here yet but I never like to see someone in bad
shape. I'll say a prayer for her during my next tea ritual. And one
every day until she's o.k.  Better days to everyone.

What a rough times she's had this week. This is all new to me, why do they wait a week to find the source of her bleeding?

I really hope things get better for her soon.

I had severe hemoptysis for 2 months straight 2 years ago. Believe it or not, it took my doctor a month to finally decide to do a bronch, and then when he found nothing that way, decided to do nothing else after. After one more month of coughing up cups of blood at one sitting, he decided I finally needed an embolization. I wasn't impressed at all with how he handled things. Even when I went to emerg every 3rd night I was sent home saying that short of operating they couldn't do anything.

I will definitely keep her in my thoughts. That is a horrible thing for her to be going through. Please keep us updated as you get more info.

I will be thinking of her and praying for a quick recovery and that they have indeed found the problem area(s).

Take Care,
Lindsey

I called the hospital later this afternoon and they told me that they planned on trying to take the vent out tomorrow if all goes well. She is not completely sedated. She is responsive and they keep waking her up. That is all I know for now, but I will keep you all posted. Thank you for your kind words.

This is sad news, again. I'm putting her at the top of my prayer list. I was praying at work over the computer, (the other morning), and someone thought I was falling asleep! Please let Jeremy know he's in our thoughts too! I'm so sorry she's going thru this!
