Hey Everyone, I have been really worried about Hairgirl (Roshelle) since she posted about bleeding last sunday and what to do, I hadn't seen her on IM so I emailed her to see how she was doing. I didn't get a response for a few days and have been very concerned. I just received this email from her husband.
Roshelle went into the er at the U Monday night and has been on a ventilator since. They took her down to intervention radiology last night to see if they could find the source of bleeding in her bronchial arteries. They did find some suspect places and they embolized them. Today they want to be agressive with airway clearance and try to ween her off the ventilator today or tomarrow. Hopefully she won't bleed any more and they can extubate her soon. The doctors are worried about pnumonia setting in due to the ventilator and the burkholdria cepacia that could get going. Roshelle's on the micu in room 4. I know she values your friendship with you. If you want an update you can call the micu nurses station and the password is **** if they ask. Thanks Jeremy Evans
If you could all keep her in your thoughts and prayers I know it would be greatly appreciated.
