poop question

Avery currently takes 5 creon 10 with meals and 4 creon 10 with snacks.

She weighs approx. 44 lbs and is pretty tall for her age (not sure the inches).

They recently upped her enzymes at CF Clinic.

She has a bad habbit of waiting until the meal is half over or over to take her enzymes so maybe this is the reason for the odd shape and texture.

Anyone know exactly what their poop is supposed to look like if the enzymes are working properly?

Thanks for the replies and comments.

My daughter poop, when her enzymes are working well; sink to the bottom of the toilet and are formed and brown. maggie was on Creon when she was baby but we have found Pancreacarb to work much better for her(they are in a buffer of bicarb) which prevents them breaking down as easily in her stomach until they reach her small intestine ; which is what you want. I would also try to get you daughter to take her enzymes first before starting eating so that the enzymes get a head start to the small intestine before the food<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

It should pretty much look like normal poop, which is what DS' looks like when he's getting enough enzymes, albeit they tend to be a bit more orange color, which I attribute to his orange CF vitamins.

He takes 5 pancrease mt10s with meals and 3 with snacks. I usually try to get him to take the enzymes within a few minutes of eating, though sometimes on gymnastics nights, he's munching away on fries on the drive home and I'm not able to reach my enzyme container or may not have a beverage with me. Then there's sometimes a delay of 10 minutes. He still has soft poop from time to time -- usually weekends when he's constantly grazing.

DS is 5 and weighs about 43 pounds and is 44-45" tall at his last check.

I was forever frustrated with the enzyme issue when he was a baby because the medical staff would always say mysteriously that "we'd know" if he needed more enzymes or what normal poop is supposed to look like. I DIDN'T know, that's why I was asking. Looking back, he probably DID need more enzymes, but the clinic wasn't concerned because he was still maintaining a reasonable weight. This summer they thought he slipped a bit, which is why they upped his enzymes.

Normal poop... LOL... I love CF talk!!! I will tell you this... I have had CF for a long time and throughout the years, poop has always been super soft except a couple times a month... when it is firm... When I talk abou tpoop with my doctors they try and tell me I need enzymes, but then all my vitamin levels are good... so that is what is important, is absorbtion... Your little ones poop will probably never look "normal", but what is important is how he/ she looks.... Malnurtioned? Need more enymes, body is not absorbing vitamins. Otherwise, don't obsess over poop... That is just my opinion...
