My daughter went through a lot of intestinal problems in her first few years as she was born with Miconeum Ileus and had to have bowel reconstruction. So I'm not sure if this would be relevant to Finn's situation, but she went through a time with explosive, stinky, poo's along with stomach aches and they determined that she was "dumping"..is that DIOS? They started her on an oral medication and did a few Barium GI's to watch everything and over time it cleared up. It has not returned again -

Hope this helps,
Melissa

Just a thought... does he take an antacids like prevacid? We had Brinly (3yrs old) on one from birth and we really did not think she needed one so we stopped and after about a month of being off she started being very gassy, horrible stools and not eating and also would complain of stomach aches - we thought back and put her back on the prevacid again and she has never had these issues again!! We only give her 1/2 a cap daily and it must help with the enzyme absorption.
Hope this helps!

When DS was about 4 months old he was still stooling -- though very loose, pasty stinky stuff, was being fussy about eating. He always seemed to have a little buddha belly...

Just happened to have a clinic appointment and xrays showed "a LOT of stool" backed up in his colon. So we were instructed to put him on Milk of Mag for a few days. This happened a couple times a year until he was 2 1/2-3. The daycare director's theory was that maybe he was a poop holder -- associating pooping with discomfort either stomachwise or sore monkey butt.

In any event... We thought he was fine because he was still pooping, but xrays showed constipation/poopy back up.
