port questions

Hi Rebecca,
First of all, it's been three weeks since my port has been placed and even when I bump it, there's no pain. YEAH! As far as right after the surgery, I took one tylenol 3 and then just regular tylenol (since tylenol 3 makes me nauseous). I think I took tylenol for almost two weeks. My opinion on the airport deal is to go ahead and arrange for help at the airport. Better to have it then to wish you did. Unless all you have is a purse and luggage that rolls. If you are going to have to carry it, get assistance and just explain that you just had surgery. They don't need the details. I hope everything goes well for you.

Hey jeana - I have had my port for 3 years now & honestly it's still tender even when I just touch it. I'm not sure if everyone is like this, but, I'm so used to it by now. Unless I'm thinking about it, I don't even notice it! Give it time <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
