without assuming anything else, I do want to pause and welcome you (tentatively) to our family.

There are a lot of great people here, and assuming you ultimately end up staying, I hope you are able to find a place to fit.

If I could give you one thing: never be afraid to ask anything. There is no question to dumb, easy, complicated, or 'inappropriate' (body functions are the norm here). And more often than not somebody has seen/done/or knows what you are looking for.

There are indeed different techniques to doing sweat tests, and it makes sense to have it repeated at an actual CF center sweat lab. I have seen plenty of borderlines come back clearly negative before. It's a no brainer to do genetic testing such as Ambry. However, I won't rag on sweat testing since there are quite a number of people who still have unknown mutations even with the 1500 panel. It's still best to do the sweat chloride first for that reason.

Sweat tests can come back elevated for other reasons besides CF....such as Addisons Disease. So another sweat test & most definitely genetic testing is important.

I had no lung issues until after my diagnosis at 7 years old. Mine was all digestive...

Good Luck & Let us know!
