possible cure for cf on the horizon?

I don't think there will ever be a true "cure". Call me cynical but how would the Pharmaceutical companies get rich if they actually cured diseases. It's nice to think someday there will be a cure but I don't count on it. I would rather have better treatments to make me live longer and have a much better quality of life.

But hey I won't feel bad if this trial proves me wrong!!!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

The only way this will ever happen is if more people volunteer for more Drug Trials. Yes I do believe that a gene therapy cure will be found (10 years?) In the mean time there are a whole host of maintenance drug trials that are out there (Denufosol, Bronchitol, Gileas 1020 (Aztreonam), VX-770). Ask your center if they are participating in any trials and get involved if you can.

Question: What is the status on that drug that a while back was supposed to be out within 2 years or so, that corrects nonsense mutations for many diseases? I know I have atleast one nonsense mutation, so that is hopeful. I have no idea what the name of the drug is, I thought it was a pill. So the name and an update on the status of what is going on would be nice to hear.

Anyone see the movie I Am Legend? Wouldn't it be weird if that new pill altered us into zombie vampires like in that movie? I nominate myself King now if possible k?
