Hi all,
I am a bit confused and figured I would ask the real experts. My 14 year old son has been sick with chronic and persistent Diarrhea since August. GI specialist has probed and poked and scanned--only finding is lactase deficiency. lactose free for a month and still diarrhea, but less, now 3-4 x a day. Diagnosed at age 1 with asthma. Weak; fatigued; light-headed; no appetite. Has lost about 15 lbs since Sept. Dad's cousin diagnosed with CF in adulthood (rare strain); cousin's son diagnosed in infancy. When our aunt said we need to have him tested for CF we thought she was nuts! A little research about later diagnosis and we don't think she is so nuts anymore! Any thoughts/advice? If this is a real possibility, I cannot fathom why our doctor's haven't mentioned it--we have been there several times a month since august!
Thanks for listening!
