post IV questions

Yes, this happened to me too. The best thing that I have found to keep clear other than my vest and HTS is excersise. I play volleyball every week when my schedule permits and yesterday I went on a hike. Just find something that you like, even if its going for a brisk walk or a mild bike ride. Anything helps.

I usually start getting productive within about 2-3 weeks after a tune up. For me, this is normal. For you, it may take some time to figure that out. If you are colonized, the IV's will help dramatically, but will likely not wipe everything out. For this reason, many people who are colonized will become productive in a fairly short amount of time. Best advice I can give is do your treatments as you should be, watch how productive you are, and if things don't plateau get hold of your physician to see if you should take a different course of action.

Hope you feel better.

Hey there, it doesnt sound like mine is the 'norm' but when I am on IV's I get very dryed out despite amazing amounts of water consumption (but I have also never been on HTS when on IVs so this may change next time). Anyway within a week of anti's I get almost nothing out I am so dry, then about 4 days after I will start getting some 'normal' out and I work really hard and then I start getting out 'old' it seems that the majority of mine will all be my light current thin stuff but I can then start to get that 'old' out that seemed to dry when on IV's. I dont know if this makes any sense. Anyway so many many times I was afraid I was sick again within a week but I will get old up for a few days then I will be completely clean and down to my 'normal' thin stuff.

My advice would be to work really hard, take advantage of being at home and hook up to that vest as often as possible and get some extra (vigorous) excercise in, see what you can get up and how you feel after a week--unless things look like they are heading south of course.

that 'dry' feeling right post IV's will not last unfortunately (actually it is discomforting to me and freaks me out LOL) but with persistence to your therapies you can keep that feeling where you can 'easily' get it up for a long time.

PS-your 'hippie' self should like this: I visualize my lungs and what they look like, dry, with stuff in them etc, then imagine trying to get them better what they will look like etc, I also have a mental 'note' of pretransplant lungs both the healhty and the yucko and try to freak myself out with 'fears' pictures of the pretransplant lungs in me when I am not trying hard enough etc. I know this sounds really wacky but say if I dont want to do my treatments at night, I imagine pools junk in my small airways nestling in for a long nap and that usually gets my butt up--if husband doenst holler first LOL!
