Prednisone

You sound like me on prednisone... I found that drinking lots of cold water helps slow down the sweating. As for the jittery, I end up taking tylenol PM to try to help me sleep when I'm on it.

Insomnia is my number one side effect with pred. Other people experience blood sugar spikes, irritability, jittery feelings, soreness, and hunger. Honestly, my side effects are pretty limited and I feel very lucky, but I do sometimes get almost uncontrollable food cravings. It's like I have to stuff SOMETHING in my mouth right away.

What dose are you on? The amount of pred makes a HUGE difference in my experience. I am on 10mg all the time and bursts normally start out at 60mg for me. By the time I hit 20 mg again I feel more or less back to normal. Hopefully since it's a short burst the starting dose isn't too high?

Good luck. I always call pred my "evil little miracle" -- it works wonders, but I hate being on high doses. Just remember to STAY AWAY from sick people when you're on it, b/c it does lower your immune system. Hope you feel better soon and get away with minimal effects!
