Pregnancy After Transplant

Hi all,

I'm new to this CF forum, and was just wondering if there are any females who may have had a successful pregnacy(s) after having lung transplant, and still maintain good health. I am aware of some complications like the body may reject the pregnacy as a foreign thing and some dangers to the foetus with drugs????. My fiance is CFgene-free and we are aware that the child would be CF carrier, but would love to know if there is someone to talk to about this. I live in Australia, and so far I havn't found much info about it nor met or know of anyone who has been successful after tx.....any thoughts would be welcomed <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

from what i have read its a 50% chance of having a sucessfull pregnancy....the baby may be fine but the transplant reciepient is not....because of the anit bodies made during pregnacy it can cause your body to go into rejection and reject the transplanted organs. this is very dangerous to the persons health, and not only can cause problems with the mother but also the baby. of the ladies i heard of getting pregnant after transplant more than half went into rejection and their health declined really bad
