i think pfts going up during preg is the exception to the rule-for those of u that had that, thats awesome. u are superhuman.
mine started to decline at 3 months even though i personally didn't feel any different. at 6 mon it started getting hard for me to walk or use stairs, and at 7 mos i was totally out of breath. atg 9 mos i was unbearable!!! and i went a week overdue!
but immediately after birth i was back to myself-
rule of thumb, if you don't feel sick, u are fine. your lungs are getting pressed on by that growing uterus very soon-somtimes as soon as 12 weeks. don't worry unless you feel sick or really short of breath

Hi there,

My PFTs have remained the same. I had one clinic visit at 8 wks pregnant and another at 5 months and they hadn't budged at all. I did have a flare up somewhere in the 4th month of pregnancy, so if I had done PFTs then they probably wouldn't have been good at all. But they obviously came right back up after the antibiotics because my 5th month appt was good.

There is another thread on here where people put what their pre-pregnancy, during pregnancy, and post-partum PFTs were. If you can find it I think that might help you out <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I think it really just varies because some girls declined a little, some didn't at all, and some did following pregnancy for a short period of time and then got them back up. Everyone is so different!

Good for you for gaining all that weight at 20 weeks!!! Hooray! I am having such a hard time gaining weight. I had a lot of morning sickness in the 1st trimester, so I lost about 5 lbs. At my last OB appt at 24 wks I had finally gained back 3.5 lbs of that. So I wasn't even back to my baseline yet! I think the weight is starting to pack on now though. I have an appt next week so I'll have to see if I gained any more this time.

Take care!
