Pregnant Carrier

I am a carrier of CF. My 8yo son has CF. I am 29 weeks pregnant w/ my 3rd child and was wondering if people who are carries are able to show signs of actually having the disease. Since my 7th week of pregnancy I have had shortness of breath that has gotten worse. Also lately my bowels have changed. Sometimes I go up to 6-7 times per day. I know this is gross, but sometimes the consistancy is like mud! Others it is normal, but 6 times a day?! I have been cleared by a cardioligist. My son had a positive sweat test but doesn't show up in DNA. Doc says he has rare mutation. Genetic testing for me was also negative. Could I actaully have CF? I've never had sweat test, have been basically health my whole life. Could I be showing symptoms of the disease because I am pregnant. I never had these problems w/ my other pregnancies.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">

Hi Bop,The only thing that I can say is that what I have heard about the more rare mutations.....is people can show symptoms later in life. If I were you...I would definitely ask for a sweat test....just to see. But also, as you know...your body changes so much during a pregnancy and each one can be soooo different. But since you know you are a carrier...you have at least one CF gene. I would put my mine to ease...and ask for a test. Good luck in what you find out. Dea
