dear kathi,i haven't been pregnant yet, but there are some things i wanted to say.there's a woman here in israel, she over 40 now. she has cf and 3 kids. my doctor told me it's advised to cf women to have one pregnancy, if you're doing real good - two. well, M beat the odds. her third pregnancy was filmed and so was the delivery and it made a part of a great documentary about motherhood shown here a while ago. i recall watching it when i was about 16 and crying afterwards, being very happy - i want kids of my own someday. i have encountered M ever since, in the clinic and such, she's doing great, she looks much younger than her age, she has beautiful kids [their photograph is at the nurse's room]. anyhow, i recall in the film she was talking about how it's very important to do sports - she went on walks and swam - and have the doctors watching you closely. she said by the end of pregnancy it's harder to breathe, but that happens to every pregnant woman since the lungs don't have as much room anymore. in any case, other than M, there were a lot of cf women here who had, have and will have babies. it's somewhat harder but they went through that and have healthy kids. good luck, kathi <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">mazal tov! keep us updated!
