Prescription Assistance Programs

So I have to switch enzymes because my insurance won't cover Pancreaze. The doctors prescribed Zenpep to be filled through CF services and the copay is $60 for a one month supply. That is really pushing it for me, as I am sure most of you have the same problem...with everything else that I have to pay for. CF services does not take my secondary insurance (MassHealth). Masshealth covers all of my other copays from Rite Aid, because Rite Aid accepts MassHealth. And to top it off, I cannot enroll in the Zenpep assistance program because I live in MA.
I transferred most of my other meds from CF services for this reason, but I do not think Rite Aid will be able to get Zenpep (or my insurance won't let me get it filled through Rite Aid).
First question...If I can transfer Zenpep to Rite Aid...and thus have NO prescriptions at CF services...CAN I STILL GET MY SOURCECF VITAMINS THROUGH CF SERVICES?
And if I CANNOT switch Zenpep...DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANOTHER TYPE OF ASSISTANCE PROGRAM? I do not think I fall under the category for poverty level for that type of assistance.

Almost every branded medication has some sort of co-pay card, etc. Just go to their website to take a look.

For PANCREAZE: https://www.altsampling.com/PDF/WebDOCeef8b210-21b9-456c-ac14-7118f333ec33encr.pdf

The ZAC (ZENPEP ACCESS TO CARE) Hotline at 1-888-ZENPEP1 (1-888-936-7371) can provide you with assistance on questions related to insurance coverage, reimbursement, and claims processing

Here's another great list of resources - some are drug specific, some aren't

Hi Caitlin,
It seems to me that the Prescription benefits/ ins co. are getting worse with what they will cover, will not cover, co-pays, etc.
I guess I would first check to see if you can get it through Rite Aid. I'm not sure if your vitamins will still be free, but I'm sure cf.ser pharmacy will answer that question for you. Also, they may have an assistance program that you may be eligible for (it doesnt hurt to ask)
I would also ask your social worker at your clinic. They seem to have most of the answers to our questions.
Its sad that with everything we have to worry about our meds/ins are among that list I thought things were supposed to be getting better w/ healthcare ??? I dont see that happening ..
Take care <3 joni

Thank you all.

@Amy...Because I live in MA, I cannot get into the Zenpep Assistance Program. I did call them and try to register and when I said MA, they were like ughhh...no. What really irked me was that they list two different programs, Zap 1 (which I would qualify for) and Zap 2 (which I would not)...but they no longer offer Zap 1, for whatever reason. They told me I will have to seek assistance through CF Foundation.

@ Joni...I didn't even think to ask the Social Worker! I do have an appointment coming up so if I don't get answers, I will have to ask her.

I do think I can get the med at Rite Aid, insurance said I could do it...so as long as they can get it in stock, I should be good.
