Prevacid in the morning or night?

Hey everyone!
I was wondering of those of you who are on prevacid or with little ones on it, when do you take it? I have been giving Avery hers at night, because it is easier for me to remember. She takes 1/2 of the soluble tablet each day. The prevacid is to help the enzymes digest better, right? So, I have been thinking maybe I should give it to her in the morning, since that is when she begins taking the enzymes. At night there aren't any enzymes in her little body, so it is kind of useless....what do you think?

My brother takes prevacid. He takes it in the afternoon and i heard that prevacid only helps not to get a stomaches when you eat.

Reilly takes her Prevacid in the morning. It is really for reflux, so I figured she needs it to work more throughout the day. I haven't ever been told to give it to her either in the morning or evening, so I don't know if it matters.

The doctor resently put our grandson on Previcid. He was taking ragalin, now at 8 months old the doc switched him to 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 at night. He said it worked well for controlling the acid in his stomach that may have kept the enzymes from working right. The ragalin was more for acid reflux. He has been on Previcid for 6 days. So far OK.

My 4 yr old daughter takes Prevacid to help her enzymes work better. She has never had reflux. Anyway, her dr suggested she should take it in the morning so it can be working throughout the day. I was told it only works for 12 hours so taking it in the morning would probably be best. She takes Prevacid in the morning and her vitamin with dinner. It has worked wonders with her stools.

I take mine antacid at night. No special reason except I remember better & that is my biggest meal of the day. I dont take it for pain, but it definitely seems to help my enzymes work better.

I take mine in the morning, then another dose at night when necessary. It totally helps with the reflux...also, in case you're not aware, with the reflux, you can aspirate even more stuff into your lungs to grow in there....so it's a good prevention for that too! (My last culture showed enterobacter (sp?) and comes from aspirating stomach acid into the lungs).

It depends on what the prescription is written for also. I found that out the hard way. In order to make sure I got 150 mg of zantac, the prescription was written out for twice a day. I found out that this was with the intention of the tablets being 75 mg each. Well the prescription was filled for 150mg tablets twice a day because that was how it was actually written which was 300 mg & caused major constipation for me. So now instead of twice daily I take once daily.

My 4 month old son has been on prevacid since he was about 7 weeks old. He for sure had reflux. Our dr explained that the most important thing with antacids is to take it at the same time every day with it having a 1 hour time window. It also takes time to build up in order to start working...so skipping a dose is not a good idea. Knowing what I have learned with it helping with enzymes I am very relieved with him being on Prevacid.
