Prevacid questions

Have to concur. One missed Prevacid and by that evening, his poops are HORRIBLE. There's really no point of feeding him by that time, because the enzymes aren't doing a darn thing for him. Prevacid is vital for his treatment.

My doc told me that one of the side effects of prevacid is loose stools. He's now got me on a different blocker (sorry forget which one) in the PM and Prevacid in the AM.

At this point my daughter does not have acid reflux that I'm aware of. I talked to my mother about the Prevacid b/c she takes it too but for Gastritis. She said if she takes it like she's suppose to, 30 min. prior to breakfast, it makes a huge difference in the way her stomach feels all day long. Morgan's doctor said she's taking in a lot of air, her chest x-ray always shows lots of air in there. She's actually been taking Prevacid for quite a while and I've been giving her 15mg 2x/day. But I never knew I was suppose to give it to her 30 minutes prior to meals. She's still eating very well today and her stools are good. I've also noticed the last 2 days that she's had no gas, which is big b/c she always has lots of smelly gas.

Dana - This new eating concept, the 3 meals and something before bed. I think he wants to make sure she's hungry so she'll eat really well at each meal but also, with what we've been doing she's taking all these enzymes and basically just a couple of bites so I don't know if that effects her stomach or not. I always give her 3 w/ meals and 2 w/ snacks b/c I really never know how much he's going to eat. With this new schedule she swallows her 2 prevacid capsules and then we set a timer for 30 minutes and I tell her when it goes off she can have breakfast. She ate so good today expect for lunch and we were at the park for a birthday party and there were so many kids and she was too busy to eat though. Maybe you should give it a try and see if it helps your daughter eat better too. If you do, let me know. Thanks for the good wishes <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
