Price of the Vest

The Respirtech vest runs approx. $13,000.
I assume the family doesn't have any type of insurance that will help cover this?
What about state-aid type insurance, has anyone had them cover a vest for yourself?

It is my understanding that the Hilrom vest cost 16,000 if I bought it out of pocket, but insurance companies are able to negociate a much lower price.

Hilrom-$16,000 new without trade in of old vest. If you trade in your old vest (don't know if she has one) it is $10,000.
