Wow. Talk about scary. Basically any shred of privacy from employers could be stripped away. The real question is, what can they do with the information? What is the point of an employer having your genetic information?? Of course we all know that it is against to law to fire based on disability/health etc, however, most employment is "at will" and employees can be let go without cause. It would be very hard to prove you were fired based on your health status.
I never told any of my employers up front about CF. Some never knew at all. I can't imagine having to literally give them my DNA. Wow, I'm actually sick at the thought of this. Guess another email to my representatives.. Sigh..
