Procrastination...

I find it hard to kick my butt in gear and get things done that I should be doing. And then when you wake up at 3am and have a major panic attack about the undone stuff and can't get back to sleep, that should be enough to get you out of bed and doing the stuff you should be doing, but can't....

I suspect the meds (I'm on a quinoline ABX now) are the cause of procrastination. So I read the fact sheet thing that came with my meds and they listed depression, anxiety and other similar side effects.

How do you get past this crap? How do you function? Things are going to get screwed up here if I don't get going, but when you feel like crap how do you keep from just procrastinating about it all?

Hi Juliet,

Bad procrastination for me typically tells me that I'm worn down and probably in need of a tune up. When I'm feeling good lung wise, I usually get a lot done and go, go, go.

How are you feeling otherwise, short of breath, lowered fev1, etc? I've never known an antibiotic to cause procrastination, but I could be wrong. I hope you figure it out.

I find procrastination manifests itself in my life in a different way. I constantly take care of myself, and mostly go to the gym often. I do all my aresols, vest treatments, and oral treatments. I find myself to be a slacker with my ultimate goal: An antimatter bomb detonated in our Earth's core. As much as I try, no matter how little matter I collect in any given place at any one time, no matter how much I demean/devalue/destabilize it, it never turns into anti-matter....And in turn, I can not end all life on planet earth. This makes me slack even further...Usually to the point where I start to lay on the couch, make instant ice cube jello, and wonder if Orville Redenbacher's real first name was Orville...All without the need to answer my own questions by getting up, sitting in front of the PC, and letting our god Google do it all for me...

Hi Juliet,
For the past few years I have been having the procrastination problem too. My favorite quick and easy fix is chocolate. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Seriously! It has some caffeine and some feel good chemicals in it and sometimes it is just enough to kick my patootie into gear.

I have been through a heck of a lot health wise in the past year and the chocolate fix just wasn't enough anymore. My nurse suggested that I try Trazodone to help me sleep mostly, but it is also used for anxiety and depression. I am very surprised at how much more I WANT to get done during the day now. I don't doubt it is my new "happy pill". I was hesitant to try it, but now I am glad I did.
