I pushed my Pediatrician yesterday about the genetic testing. She said that she will refer us to a pulmonoligist because it will get past insurance if a specialist orders it. She offered to send us for GI testing as well, but I told her I would like to tackle one thing at a time. She agreed because if the results do come back CF then we know what's causing the GI problems. I also don't want to put my baby through too much at one time or more than he has to.

That is very good news - I'm so glad you will be able to get genetic testing. Have we already given you the speech about getting full testing and nothing less? Be sure they are looking for ALL CF genes (there are now approximately 1800) don't let them do anything less or else you will still be wondering if they missed them...so many times they run the cheaper test of 98 genes -- that leaves out a whole lot of genes!!!
