Hmmmmm, I think you are being quite rude! As a mom of a CF child I think it is awesome that people come right to the source for information. If you don't want to reply, or read the posts, then DON'T...it is that simple! At least there are people interested in finding out about the disease rather than ignoring it...get a grip!

Mom of a CFer, I think it's awesome people want to learn about CF too. However, my girls have a point. We're not here to give these students an easy A. If they ACTUALLY TRULY have an interest, I'm happy to oblige, answer questions, etc. But most students here are only asking because they're required and don't really care. You can usually tell who's actually interested and who's just required to look it up by the way they talk and the questions they ask. If someone comes on here with more specific questions, those will always be responded to more readily. Mostly because the people with specific questions are clearly more interested than the kids coming on here with very vague general questions, just trying to get an assignment done as quickly as possible. In the case of people who don't really care, and are just trying to get an easy A, it's actually kind of insulting that they come here to ask us the questions just to get their homework done. As someone else said before, it makes us feel like we're an experiment... on display for people to come and stare at. We get that every day, we don't need it here on our own forum. I think that's mostly what people are trying to say. It's certainly how I feel, anyways.

But like I said, when you can tell people actually care about the subject, they are often more warmly welcomed.

I agree to a point, however, maybe in "just trying to get an A", they will learn something that will stick with them. BUT, if they get the negative attitude that is often displayed on this site with the questions they ask, they may be more inclined to think "f*&^" CFers, I don't care about them anyway...just a thought. Maybe instead of criticizing them, we should just offer the same advise we do with the others...look on the other posts and if you still have questions, feel free to ask.

A few months back, this wasn't such an issue. There were some once in while specific questions. But now it has become a case of enough is enough. I don't have CF, but I stand for those who do, and they/we are not here to be looked at through glass as if they/we were an experiment.

For everyone who hates these posts as much as I do, lets just ignore them from this point on. I have been guilty of telling them to take a hike if they are asking a general question, BUT I do answer the specific questions. But from now on, I am going to read the post and if it is a general question I am going to move on. Maybe people will get the point if we just pass it by.

I think the best thing to do is just ignore the posts that are offending you. I completely agree that it's gotten out of hand, but I don't think anything is accomplished by calling names. It just makes CFers look like jerks.

Yes I totally agree with you Jenny I know that it is annoying but it probably i best to ignore the questions not worth worrying about I reckon

1) we dont call them names
2) i dont think they should deserve a good grade if they dont really give a chit...and they can think whatever they want about us...cause the people who do know us know who we are...and that we arent jerks...ask julie

I think we are making ourselves look so negative! Yes its annoying but if you dont want to write back, DON'T! if the topic is named "project" don't read it if it bothers you that much!!! And please, Lilstrawberryshortness, don't curse!

I agree with both sides of what people are saying here, and I have been more than guilty of being a poster to these "project" questions. For me personally, from now on, unless it's a specific question where I can tell someone has done research but is still unclear about things and has some specific in depth questions, I am just going to pass it by. Everyone else is going to to do their own thing, but I can see how it could be offensive if I were on the recieving end.

I've said this before, I have no problems if they ask specific questions. it shows at least that they've done some research anyway.

If they annoy you, then just don't open the thread in the first place. Simple as that.

Yes, they should do their research before posting a general question, but you can just easily ignore it if you are annoyed by it.

One more thing. It's interesting that "they are getting annoying" when you are still so very new to the board. You get annoyed easily, huh? Lighten up girl.....just ignore it & move on.
