Have you noticed any changes to your period when you have low levels of pseudo?The last 20days ive been on Zithromax and i guess my pseudo is low....my period which normally has a circle of 23-25 days now came after 28 days...I noticed same thing while being on iv medicine last summer...........Happens to you too?

I second that, Melissa. Antibiotics make my periods two weeks late. I actually thought I was pregnant and took two pregnancy tests, which came up negative. Didn't know how I could have been since my husband and I were using protection but you never know.

also worth noting that when taking antibiotics it makes the pill ineffective.

I know but thanks for mentioning it.
I was already off the pill at that time. We had been trying for 4 months before I got sick. During the IV's, he used condoms. We then waited 4 months until we started trying again.

When I weigh at least 115lbs at the start of IVs my cycle is NOT affected but if I weigh below that I always have a delay in my cycle when I am on or just coming off of IVs. So maybe it is a combination of you being sick - possible weightloss and the IV meds.

When I weigh at least 115lbs at the start of IVs my cycle is NOT affected but if I weigh below that I always have a delay in my cycle when I am on or just coming off of IVs. So maybe it is a combination of you being sick - possible weightloss and the IV meds.

I'm pretty sure it has more to do with the stress your body is under when on IVs that causes the delay. The timing of a period is determined by when you ovulate. It you're under stress (or sick) ovulation is delayed. It may have to do somewhat which the chemicals in the drugs, but not as much as you might think.
I've always been regular as clockwork which has made birth control practically a non issue for us. Incidentally, I have an IUD, and my husband recently underwent a vasectomy.
There are so many variables in our health as CFers, particularly when it comes to reproductive issues. I strongly encourage sexually active CFers to be METICULOUS about birth control and overall compliance with their healthcare regime.
