Technically, My parents were from Fondy, I was just born there..probably in only one of the few hospitals there where my Grandma was working at! LOL

Ok, so I derailed my own post...getting back on track with a question...

I was thinking that if I'm to talk to my doc about getting an Rx, to hit him with what I'll be needing, generic or otherwise.

I see that nebbed Tobi would be one alternative (though I'd like to make that the last resort since I understand the after-effects has to do with your hearing). Cipro was mentioned as another one, though I'm not sure if Cipro is also in a neb or iv form and what its side-effects happen to be.

Since I haven't had any abx for PA in a long time I imagine anything will kick its little behind outta my lungs..so what was the latest in oral drugs?

It seems to me that when the wife got the culture results, nothing was said to me about going in to see the doc, so I suspect the doc is not aware how severe PA can be for a CF'er.
Since I hadn't been feeling my 100% in the past few weeks, I'm concluding that the results from the culture are the culprit. BTW, I did culture a couple other bugs, and they all were a +3.
Therefore, I may have to demand some abx and want to walk in there fully loaded. Drugs in Japan are different than the states so the contents may be the same but the names may be different. Also, the duration...I personally don't think a one-week supply would be sufficient, even if I "religiously" took it...Probably two weeks would do before going in for another request for a culture.

Help on this (oral meds) would be appreciated! (I'll google Cipro, tho)

DS was put on oral cipro when he had similar symptoms.

Didn't Amy, noexcuses have issues when she visited Japan and was trying to get a script for an abx at a higher dosage than what doctors wanted to prescribe. I was thinking THAT was cipro. Lisa

Fred,
Man, so sorry to hear this news. It ticks me off that you can't get some antibiotics or Tobi. I sure hope you can get your doc to come up with some treatment....you can't go forever with PA attacking you....
I will keep you in my thoughts...let us know how you are doing...

Hahah - - Yeah, I don't know why high school didn't come to mind. Mental break perhaps. I am getting old.... 31. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Yeah, I was a WLA-er.

Sorry I don't have any other info for you on the abx, especially in Japan. Definitely get something though. The 3+ growth for multiple bac means you are definitely in fight mode w/ your body right now - very exhausting!

Wishing quick turnaround for you!
