A few weeks after DS cultured it was when he ended up in the hospital with a bowel obstruction -- totally unrelated to what he was culturing -- but while he was in, his doctor decided to do a tune up as well -- increased vest to 6! times a day and ordered a ton of IV abx. So I'll be interested in what/if he's culturing this next time.

My daughter just cultured it and they are starting her back on TOBI. She had been off TOBI for almost a year - it was sooo nice. She cultured pseud. putida once about 6-8 months and they did nothing. They said it was nothing to worry about, unless she starts having symptoms. Now they say they are starting people on TOBI regardless of the pseudomonas strain and the absence or presence of symptoms.

It feels like overkill to me. But I sure don't want to skip something if this is going to keep Lauren healthy longer.

As annoying as it is to be doing tobi every other month -- I figure it's in DS' best interest to be on it. Actually DS was put on maintenance (Half dose) of tobi twice a day by his CF clinic. So timewise it's not so bad; however, we JUST finished yesterday for the month and it feels like a mini-vacation. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
