I asked my doc if I had both. I have one mucoid and three non-mucoid.

As for how long it took to get the dishes to look like that, I'll ask my cousin. I'm pretty sure they were dishes at her lab, so she can find out how long it was.

am I the only one who thought that was Cool? *laughs* call me sick, but that was awesome to see. I had non mucoid once. (*knock on wood*) and that was hard enough to breathe with. mucoid looks like its alive or something. Creepy, yet cool.

Shannon, Ask for a copy of your sputum culture results if you don't already have a copy of it. In their findings they should list all the bugs they found and when they list the PA (which will be spelled out not abbreviated) it will say which type. If not I would question your doctor about the lab he is processing at. For my doctor/lab I always want to make sure my sputum is ordered for AFB and culture.
