Compressors lose their ability to change liquid into respirable doses (particle sizes that the lungs can actually use) over time.

This is why it's wise to change the compressor every 3 years.

There's no sense in doing meds if the particles that are getting into your lungs are too large or too small to be used properly by your lungs.

It's an investment, but even if you don't have insurance, a PARI ProNeb Ultra is about $90.

I agree with Amy - only I replace every 2 years. I just bought a brand spanking new PARI ProNeb Ultra on Ebay for $40, and a Pari trek for traveling for $60. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

At those prices, insurance or not, you can't afford to NOT have a decent compressor at all times. As pricey as our drugs are, compressor costs are a drop in the bucket plus I would want the best possible delivery system out there. And don't forget to change those filters regularly!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
