My thought as well was that its doing what its meant to do. The point of the pulmozyme is to move all of that gunk you can't normally get out OUT of you.

I don't have experience with start up on it, so I can't tell you how long it might take to reach a stable point. But, I would encourage you to stick with it a bit longer as the others have suggested.

I remember when I took PulmoZyme, I had a hoarse voice and developed an occassional pimple which I never had before.

I always did my chest therapies three to four times per day. I never had gurgling but would get a sudden cough that I had to keep coughing until I would get out the mucus. It does work like draino.

I suggest you increase your chest pt to see if that helps you.

Some people would do chest pt first then take pulmozyme.
I cannot remember all the tricks I would use.

It has been many years. I hope you find a solution but do not give up something that could help you.

Rami,
I do my Pulmozyme in the morning / early afternoon after or sometimes during the vest. If you are doing it at night, that might be why you are having the problems you are having. I remember when i first started doing it, My nurse told me...."whatever you do, dont do it before bedtime or you will be up all night". I always did it during the day so i can cough up all the crap during the daytime hours . I certainly understand your being nervous with the gurgling sensation, i dont like that either. I dont think anyone who has ever had hemoptysis problems ( and bad ones at that) could possibly over-look that sound and feeling. Try doing the Pulmozyme during the day before lunch and see if that helps. From the sounds of it, i think the Pulmozyme is doing its job well for you making the sputum thin enough to cough out, but you want it to do that while you arent trying to sleep. Let us know how it goes.....

Maybe take 1/2 the dose (my un-doctor oppinion!!). It might just be too much for you. When I started it, I had to work my way up. I just felt like I was drowning or something.
My chest makes a crackling sound, so I have a fan on at night so I don't have to hear it. So annoying.
Try to prop yourself up on pillows, that might help. If I bleed that helps and if I cough at night, that helps.

Good luck and I hope you get used to it.
