purple nailbeds

Hi everyone,

Just wondering what could've happened here...

I was waiting to be seen by my OB when my SO noticed my fingernails were tinged a little purple. I have never noticed that color before, but I agreed that they did look a little "un-pink".

I'm sort of confused because I would consider my PFT's and sats to be good (last visit in Dec showed FEV1 80%, sats 99%).

I was feeling pretty cruddy last week, but I seemed to have kicked whatever it was. I was pretty close to calling the doctor for antibiotics. So what would cause the purple color? Bad lighting (ha)? Low sats? Low FEV1? It just wasn't normal for me. But everything seems to be a-ok now.

My nail beds get a purpley color when I need O2. They have also gotten more purple as my FEV1 has gone down.
