fill out the FAFSA if you haven't already.
I'd suggest fastweb.com, it's a huge scholarship search.
I know there's a cystic fibrosis scholarship out there and a few others along those lines.
As for additional monetary funds I'd talk to the financial aid advisor at your school, usually they can offer suggestions/help.

Creon offers a scholarship for people with CF every year. The deadline has passed for 2005, but you could apply for 2006.

Here is a link to the Boomer Esiason Foundation scholarship page; they also offer scholarships and grants for people with CF. http://www.cfambassador.com/

If you google cystic fibrosis scholarships you may be able to find some more, or you may be able to get some aid due to CF as a disability.

Good luck!!

Heh. FAFSA. I once made up obscene words for what the letters stand for. Hehehe. *snickers* Let's just say I made it the Federal Association of ________ Students in the ___.
But yeah, there are CF specific scholarships out there. Boomer Esiason among them. Also, check with the financial aid office at your school.

Cariann if you have been getting ssi for a while there is government programs that can help you. I live in Wisconsin and my college is almost all paid for. $25,000 worth. Look into it. I had no clue untill I talked to a good friend of mine in the hospital. It all started when I asked her where she got her lap top and she told me and it was freeeee! Oh yea I also got a free computer. Just do your research. Nate 26m/wcf

Do you have a website for Cariann? I'm in need for scholor ship I am wanting to go back to college. due to teacher failing me for being in the hosptial. I live in ga .

Selina, (bubbles are fun...) we gave you a plethora of information on the MSN CF2 chat site and you Shoved it in all of your faces after we all gave you about 20 posts of advice. You complained about how NOBODY was helping you, wah, wah wah.... Don't you dare comeon this site and do the same thing. You have about 10 websites to visit from the last website (MSN2) that can help you, plus, I already told you it is ILLEGAL for a teacher to fail you because you are in the hospital. If you really cared about doing anything... you would have heeded my advice and requested a review of your situation by the school. And by law, they would have had to rule in your favor. Don't do this on this website, don't you dare!

The CF Foundation also had a CF scholarship that you can apply for. Not sure of the details but you can go to www.cff.org to get details! Also, FAFSA is a GREAT source!

Thanks for the links and advice. I have another question: does any one know of any college that does online learning. and also accepts any scholor ships that you can get?

thanks again

Selina

Selina, most state universities have online classes, but you have to have your first 2 years completed. If you haven't done your first two years, you should check into a community college. They have scholarship programs (you MUST fill out a FASFA first though) just the same as any university. Stay away from any of those programs like Maric college (not sure where you live but that is a BIG one in CA) or any small town "colleges" advertised, they pop up out of nowhere and disappear just the same. Honestly, stay away from even Phoenix online, there is an email going around the military from the Upper Levels (I believe a commander of naval personnel, but somebody reputable) that they are under investigation, their degrees aren't transferable/reputable... just be careful.

Look into a local community college that has been around for years. Once you find a school and fill out a fasfa, fill out forms at the financial aid office and ask if they have a separate financial aid office. If they do, I recommend you fill out a scholarship application there as well.

As far as private scholarships... boomer esiason, patient advocate foundation, Elizabeth Nash scholarship, CF scholarship foudation (go to google and look up the names, it should pop up some stuff)
