Question about tune-ups

When I was in highschool I usually went in one to two times a year for 10-14 days at a time...and keep in mind that my FEV1 was in the 100's, but I always liked to stay on top of it.

Hi,

My daughter is eleven with CF and doing very, very well. However, she continues to culture PA despite the use of Tobi every other month. My question to you as an adult with CF is would you admit her to try and eradicate the PA before it turns to mucoid or would you wait until she is sick and treat the symptoms? My concer is she will end up catching something else in the hospital and be in worse shape then before she went in as well as the damage all the antibiotics do to the gutt, etc...

Thanks,
Carrie

IF it can be erradicate its worth to try. It wont gaurantee that she wont culture it again, but once its colonized that is it......then you just keep it at bay.

I never had the chance of erradicating it. I have been culturing PA since my dx at 7. I am sure I had it for years before my dx.

She can catch something else in the hospital or she could not, but you know she already has pseudomonas.

Maybe you could do home iv's & avoid the hospital!
