thanks, I feel bad. i thought it was the smoker friend. Its really just makes not wnat to ring my kids around anyone who smokes.</end quote></div>

The idea of staying away is good even if they dont have immediate reactions. I grew up in a smoking house. Both husbands were smokers tho my hubby is working on quitting!!

I will just have to get more strict, although Ithought I made it clear.</end quote></div>

Most smokers dont understand how the smell just clings to everything because they are use to it. Most people dont understand how things affect CF so its a double misunderstanding.

You might get people annoyed, but IMHO its important!

All your gut instincts about the smokers, the cat, the missed treatment were right. And the extra treatments to counteract these harmful triggers probably saved your baby from getting really sick. Not only did the smokers have smoke by-products clinging to them, there would also have been smoke in the house from that day and every day previously. It's in everything in their house!

You were also right about the exposure to the cat. Studies are showing that allergy people (CF people are generally hypersensitive) are showing signs of asthmatic responses even if they do not have cat allergens.
Because your baby had a wheezing episode, if possible, I'd stay away from cats too.

What is really great though, is that you were able to notice these things and make the connections. Some people would have thought the baby just happened to get sick for no reason.
